Summary

Jabba order the Rebels thrown into the Great Pit of Carkoon in the Dune Sea of Tatooine. As Luke jumps, R2 shoots his lightsaber to him and Lando drops his Skreej disguise to free Han and Chewie. As a battle wages on the skiff, Boba Fett rockets over to fight. In the chaos, Leia chokes Jabba in her chains and Barada, Klaatu, Snitkin, and the Weequays are killed. Fett and Luke face off, but a shot from the barge rocks the skiff and Fett drops. Lando falls, but Han grabs his feet as Chewie holds Han's legs. Jumping to the sail barge, Luke kills more guards. Fett aims at him, but Han hits his rocket pack with a pole, tossing him into the sarlacc. R2 shocks Crumb for biting 3PO's eyes, then cuts Leia's chains, and she joins Luke on deck. The sarlacc grabs Lando, pulling him to its maw. Leia kills the deck gunner and uses his gun to fire on the sail barge, as Luke kills the last of the guards. Though half-blind, Han shoots the tendril, freeing Lando. Luke and Leia swing back to the skiff, then all escape as the barge explodes. Luke and R2 visit Dagobah in an X-Wing as the others rejoin the fleet in the Falcon. At Sanctuary Moon, a Lambda-class ship brings Palpatine, his Imperial Royal Guard, advisor Kren Blista-Vanee, and Grand Vizier Sate Pestage to the Death Star. Palpatine commends Vader on speeding up the schedule, claiming Luke will seek him out and turn to the Dark Side. Adjourning to his throne room, he orders the fleet to wait at the far side of Endor, dismissing Vader's concerns over an amassed Rebel fleet at Sullust. On Dagobah, Luke is concerned that Yoda has grown sick and dying. Yoda says his training is nearly complete but that he must confront Vader. When Luke asks if Vader is his father, Yoda is disturbed, for Luke was not ready to face him at Bespin. Yoda warns him not to suffer his father's fate after he dies. Later, Ben appears and says he and Yoda will both always be with Luke. He confronts Ben about his lies concerning Vader, but Ben explains that when Anakin Skywalker turned to the Dark Side, he destroyed the good in himself, so Ben told the truth from a certain point-of-view. When Ben met Anakin, he was amazed at his strength in the Force and thought to train Anakin as Yoda had trained him, but he failed and Anakin became Vader. He says Leia is Luke's twin sister, taken and separated at birth to keep the Emperor from finding them; Luke was taken to Owen and Beru Lars on Tatooine, while Leia was taken to Bail Organa on Alderaan. Since Leia is untrained in the Force, Ben says that Luke is their last hope. EnsViews Comic Review
