Summary

As Ferret's guards surround Luke and Lando, an alien named Quad-Lo thinks they're for sale and bids on them. Ferret and his octopus-like companion, Skek, bring them to his lair, where he agrees to sell four TIEs built from scavenged parts, hidden on Patch-4, a trash disposal world. Taking their money, he tries to destroy their shuttle, but Lando leaves Chewie as insurance. P'Lor, a hunchbacked Lobot-type Borg, relays a message from Leia, but Ferret ignores it. On Patch-4, amid bantha tripe and other trash, Luke sees the TIEs, but Caesar, Ferret's blaster-resistant watch-beast, grabs Lando, drops him when Luke stabs it, and blocks the way to the ship. As Ferret mentally calls to P'Lor to kill Chewie, Serja Kesselrock and his band of Hoboes lead Luke and Lando to a cave. When the Empire took their homes, they sought refuge here, but Ferret made life difficult by leaving Caesar here, controlled by a sonic pacifier on the shuttle. Pretending Ferret has a call from Berki's Spice Booth, P'Lor douses Chewie with a spritzer unit, encasing him in crystal. Ferret says he'll sell Chewie a slave, but Chewie escapes and gives chase. Luke sneaks out a back-exit, buries Caesar in a pile of trash, and runs for the ship, but Caesar survives and attacks. As Luke activates the sonic pacifier, Lando hits the beast with a single shot, amazed by his "good aim" until realizing Luke did it. Ferret and Skek try to escape aboard a private spacer, but Chewie shoots it with his bowcaster and prepares to rip Ferret's head off. Luckily, Luke and Lando return in time to stop him, having taken the TIEs and left the sonic pacifier with the Hoboes. They tow the TIEs to Arbra, where Leia briefs them on the fleet disaster and Shira promises a party in their honor. EnsViews Comic Review
