Luke is saved by Ben Obi-Wan Kenobi for whom Artoo is carrying a plea for help
from Princess Leia. Because Imperials searching for the droids destroy
Luke's home, he joins Ben to deliver R2 to the rebels. They meet Han Solo and
Chewbacca and hire them for transport.
