"The Twins" Exclusive Artwork At SWShop

Posted By Justin on June 25, 2009

Head on over to the StarWarsShop to check out this new exclusive artwork print created by designer Craig Drake.

See the excerpt below:

Q: First, what inspired the idea to go with the Twi'lek twins for your second in this stylized series of Star Wars portraits?

A: When choosing subjects for this series, the phrase "It's all in the eyes" goes through my head. The Twi'lek Twins really have that amazing [Patrick] Nagel gaze. I also loved the idea of surfacing some lesser-known characters -- although I'm pretty certain Ann and Tann are HUGE fan favorites! I'm hoping this illustration will spawn some energy to finally get their action figures made -- come on Hasbro!

Q: Tell us about the costumes shown in your illustration -- they're a bit different than the ones we see Twi'leks wear in the movies.

A: They went through a few wardrobe changes, however the inspiration was always '80s work out gear. "The Princess" illustration stayed pretty true to her Episode V snow suit. This time around I was compelled to bring them out of universe a bit and dress them as if they were in an Olivia Newton John video.

The artwork is available in an extremely low run of only 200 prints, so act fast if you want to add Twi'lek sisters Ann and Tann to your collection!
