ROCHESTER RED WINGS TO HOST STAR WARS NIGHT AT FRONTIER FIELD SATURDAY Team to wear limited-edition Star Wars jerseys for game against Empire State Yankees
ROCHESTER, NY – The Rochester Red Wings will host Star Wars Night for their game against the Empire State Yankees Saturday at Frontier Field. The Red Wings will wear limited-edition Star Wars jerseys, which will be auctioned off for charity during the game. Gametime is 7:05 p.m.
This year’s jerseys are Chewbacca themed, featuring the brown hair and artillery sash of the character portrayed by Peter Mayhew. A silent auction for the jerseys, which will be autographed, will be held Saturday during the game. All proceeds will benefit Hillside Family of Agencies in Rochester.
Members of Garrison Excelsior, the regional representatives of the global Star Wars costuming group known as the 501st Legion of Imperial Stormtroopers, will be on hand at the ballpark as well on Saturday.
The special evening at Frontier Field features a Star Wars Family Four-Pack ticket package, which includes four reserved seats, four hot dogs, four sodas, and one lightsaber, all for $52.

The Red Wings and Frontier Field have been selected to host the New York Yankees’ Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre club for 37 games in 2012 while the Scranton ballpark undergoes major renovations. Wings fans will benefit from eight additional Red Wings vs. Yankees games at Frontier Field, plus 29 more games featuring top Yankees prospects against other International League clubs.
