Official 2004 Star Wars CCG Championship Outline Posted By Josh on February 18, 2004
The Star Wars CCG Player's Committee is pleased to announce the first details of the 2004 Championship season! There are some additions and changes from the last couple of years. Please be sure to read everything carefully so that when specific dates and venues are announced, you will understand what each event will offer. Please feel free to voice your comments or questions in the PC's Forums. Also, the PC is working on a solution to the official ratings/rankings issue. Please stay tuned for details concerning the PC's ranking system very soon.
There are four Levels of Championships, and each offers its own benefits. ALL events on ALL Levels of the Championship Circuit are OPEN to ALL players. All events will include prizes such as uncut sheets, tournament foils, and other Star Wars CCG product. If you are a Tournament Director and you wish to run one of these events please e-mail Tournaments Advocate Mitch Velasco tournaments@swccgpc.com for the proper application form. If you would like to help out at a Convention, please contact any of the Advocates. Thanks in advance to everyone willing to help out and to the Players for their continued participation and support!
The details of each Level are as follows:
Level 1 - States/Provincials, Mini-Opens The Winner of each tournament will receive a Bye to Day 2 of the World Championship. States and Provincials will take place between April 1st and August 1st. States and Provincials will be listed at the Player's Committee website as they are scheduled.
Level 2 - Decktech Players Challenge The Winner and Runner-up of each Player's Committee-sponsored DPC will receive a Bye to Day 2 of the World Championship. Cash prizes will be included as a part of the prizes.
Level 3 - Nationals, Continentals, Invitationals, Majors The Winner and Runner-up of each tournament will receive a Bye to Day 2 of the World Championship. In addition, special prizes are planned for these events including "Glass" trophies and cash. Many of these events will take place at major Conventions throughout the Summer. The Invitationals will be hosted at select Regions around the World. Special prizes will also include officially licenced Star Wars collectibles and prop replicas!
Level 4 - Star Wars CCG World Championship Three days of Star Wars gaming will determine the 2004 Star Wars CCG World Champion!
