CCG Flashback: Boba Fett and Princess Leia Posted By Josh on February 10, 2004
At the time the Cloud City expansion was released back in the Fall of 1997, Boba Fett was beyond anticipated by the players. The final result was very usable for the day, but quickly fell along the wayside with the release of his enhanced version and other stronger Dark Side characters. In its latest Virtual Card set, the PC has given the Cloud City version of Fett new life, and players new reasons to fear the legendary bounty hunter:
Adds 3 to power of anything he pilots. Once during your control phase, may take into hand any card with 'Bounty' in the title. Those cards are also immune to Aim High. May 'fly' (landspeed = 3). Draws one battle destiny if unable to otherwise. Immune to attrition < 4.
Be sure to check out the new Boba Fett's Blaster Rifle, also in the same set. And for a new version of Slave I in upcoming releases!
Among one of the better versions of the persona, back in the day Dark Side players were a little hesitant to iniate battles with Princess Leia close by. However, again, other versions of the Rebel princess spoke to the meta-game of the day leaving the Cloud City Leia to collect dust in trade binders. But not anymore:
Once per turn, may play Leia's Blaster Rifle, Leia's Sporting Blaster, Leia of Alderaan, or Reflection. Adds one battle destiny if with Han or Vader. May deploy or move as a 'react' to same site as an Imperial. Immune to attrition < 4.
Be sure to check out the new Leia of Alderaan, also in the same set!
